ICOMOS India Northeast Zone is pleased to invite you all to join a five-day workshop on "Manuscript Preparation and Painting in Sankari Style," scheduled from 15th - 19th July 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This workshop is organized by the Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva and is supported by the ICOMOS India North-East Zone and the Delphic Council of North-East.
The event will take place at the Directorate of Historical and Antiquarian Studies auditorium, Panbazar, Guwahati, in collaboration with the Directorate of Historical and Antiquarian Studies, Government of Assam.
Participants will receive training in Sanchipat making, Sankari Style painting using traditional pigments like Hengul and Haital, and traditional ink making with natural ingredients. Distinguished traditional artist Mridu Moucham Bora will lead the workshop as the trainer and resource person. The Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva has organized this annual workshop in various locations across Assam since 2013.
