The National Scientific Committee on Twentieth Century Heritage (NSC 20C) and Emerging Professionals Working Group (EPWG) of ICOMOS India comes together with a monthly series of Public Talks titled: '20C Narratives- India and the World’
The inheritance of 20th century architecture is rich and diverse, reflecting the prevalent socio-cultural philosophies and technological advancements of that time. The architecture thus born initiated a break from traditional architectural forms, design, and use of materials encouraging a new form of artistic expression through the innovative vision for spatial arrangement, structural innovations, and new materials. Globally, the 20th century heritage has been influenced by factors like industrialisation, mass production, world war, structural innovations, and advancements in science and technology among others.
