This IDMS, all members are cordially invited to a discussion on “How does twentieth-century
heritage manifest our diverse past and complex futures?”
The meeting, hosted by East Zone, aims to reflect on the legacy of 20th-century heritage in
East and North-East India, with specific examples highlighting diverse traits, many risks and
varied possibilities.
Ms Anju Mani and Ms Indrani Sarkar will be sharing examples from Assam and West Bengal
outlining challenges, opportunities and possibilities of 20th-century heritage for the
increasingly complex future. Dr Sanghamitra Basu will moderate the discussion.
